Can Hip Surgery Be Performed Along With Lung Transplant Surgery?

I am 68 and have necrosis of both hips. I am also on a waiting list for a lung transplant? They will not do the lung transplant until they do the hip surgeries. They are talking about doing bilateral hip surgery at the same time. Is this being done very often and is there a greater risk? Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you are waiting for lung transplant. Your bilateral hips surgery also due. You want to know that whether bilateral surgery is more dangerous. In my opinion bilateral hip replacement is more risky then one done at a time . You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
