Can Hypertension Pills Cause Dryness Of Mouth And Eyes, Swollen Glands? I Am Allergic To Sulfa

About 4 years ago I had cellulitis in my leg. My Dr. Put me on hydrochlorothiazide and I just started to take metformin . I also am on Levothyroxine for about 21 years. But when my dr put me on the high blood pressure pills, I have had severe dry mouth and eyes and sometimes swollen glands. My tongue hurts so bad to eating and drinking alot of things. So I was diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome just recently. I tried being off my high blood pressure pills for a week and my eyes felt great and my mouth actually was producing saliva, which felt good. So I went back on them again my eyes are red and my mouth is dry. I am also allergic to sulpha. Could it be the pills and maybe not Sjögren's syndrome ? Thanks!

Hello
Few hypertension pills are known to cause dry eyes. Since you are a diabetic, having hypothyroidism you have got many risk factors for development of dry eyes.
This may not be Sjogren syndrome as it is usually associated with autoimmune diseases and joint pains.
Thank you
