Can I Continue To Use Skinlite With My Head Turning Blackish?

hi sir, i am using skin lite 20 gm over 1 month it seemed good results for me but suddenly my head turned to light blackish so i stopped using skinlite for 2 days what do i do to get rid of this and tell me precautions wether i can use the skinlite next time?? plzz reply soon ,thank you

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Skinlite cream contains a potent steroid , Mometasone along with hydroquinone and tretinoin. It is a gold standard combination for hyperpigmentation but it should not be used without supervision of a dermatologist and in any case not more than 2-3 months because of risk of steroid related side effects like photosensitivity, skin thinning and atrophy.

In my practice I ask my patient to stop it after 2-3 months and then switch over to a product containing one or more of the following: kojic acid, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, arbutin, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate etc..

Use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day to prevent sun induced tanning/pigmentation
