Can I get oral thrush from my environment? I also have acid reflux. I was treated with Nystatin, my thrush went away, but it feels like it is back now. Each time I stay at my rental duplex I feel pain in my chest. I am allergic to the landlords three cats, but I do not sneeze.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain thrush is an yeast infection and is most commonly occurred when the body's resistance goes down and there is more of chance for the opportunistic organisms like fungus to proliferate..
A small amount of fungus is present in the body as well as mouth and genital areas and when the body's resistance becomes low like while taking steroids and antibiotics, dry mouth, having diabetes and other immune deficiency conditions like HIV , undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy etc can cause thrush..
Chest pain can be due to acid reflux as well as chest congestion caused due to allergic reaction[ if you experience the same].
Nothing to worry as you have a recurring episode of thrush consult your treating doctor and he can advise you to take oral antifungal medicines like Fluconazole, clotrimazole lozenges, nystatin mouthwash and taking lots of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic in diet..
Hope this information helps..
