Can I Get Pregnant Inspite Of Having PCOD?

hi,
I am a married woman of age 36. I have PCOD problem due to high insulin serum. My both ovaries measures 11.8cc. I am trying for my second pregnancy also. I had my last menstrual periods on 2nd dec 2013. from 2 day of my period my doctor told me to take clomid 50mg (clomifene citrate) for 5 days. we r having sex almost every alternative day from 11 of dec till date.
as I did not get my periods I had my BETA HCG (TITRE) done and it was negative. my doctor has given me Primolut N 10 mg to get my periods and then from day 2 of my cycle take clomid for five days again. my question is what are the chances of pregnancy at this stage and how long I have to repeat this clomid cycle to get pregnant. Is there any other medicean better than clomid or I need to increase my dosage.is it possible after taking primolut N I can be pregnant and if so how save is my fetus. what are the other test I need to consider. My Free T4, TSH, Prolactin tests are normal. please advice.

Hello!
Thanks for your query.
Clomid (clomiphene citrate ) is an oral medication that is commonly used for the treatment of infertility.
It is often given to try to induce ovulation in women that do not develop and release an egg (ovulate) on their own, like you with PCOS.
Women with PCOS will often ovulate after taking Clomid.
In my opinion you should try with metformin 850 mg two times a day for three cycles, due to the increased levels of insulin.
Both you can use clomiphene citrate,as prescribed by your doctor.
The ovulatory response to clomifene can be increased in polycystic ovary syndrome women by decreasing insulin secretion with metformin.
