Can I Get Pregnant Post Unprotected Sex Despite Missing A Sprintec 28 Day Pill?

Hello, I missed the second to last active pill in the sprinted 28day pill pack. Sex on Sunday the day before missing the pill. missed pill on Monday night, remembered Tuesday morning and took the pill. And will take Tuesday s pill like normal. Is there a risk for pregnancy? Do I continue on with the sugar pills, or start new pack of active pills? Thank you

I have read your description and understand your concern.
Missing birth control pills as per the schedule always carries a risk of pregnancy, when you have unprotected intercourse during that time.
Since it was the last active pill and towards the end of the scheduled pack, the chances of pregnancy happening is less.
However, you need to take the sugar pills as scheduled and start the new pack once the current pack gets over.
It is advisable to use other modes of contraception like condoms and spermicides, in case you have intercourse, till you get your periods, if this happens again.
Alternately, in case it is not more than 72 hours following unprotected intercourse, you can take an emergency contraceptive pill (morning-after pill), for which withdrawal bleeding should happen within 3 weeks.
If the periods gets delayed by any chance under such circumstances, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and seek medical attention promptly.
