Can I Increase My Dosage For An Increased Synthroid?

I HAVE BEEN ON SYNTHROID FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS ,AND OVER THE PAST 3 TO 5 YEARS,MY SYNTHROID HAS HAD TO BE INCREASED TO RIGHT NOW100MCG 1X A DAY. CAN I EXPECT TO SEE AN INCREASE IN THE DOSAGE ALWAYS? AND IS THIS THE NORM. I AM 51 YEARS OLD AND MY WEIGHT IS NORMAL

Hello,
This is not true.
In many cases,the dose of SYNTHROID may have to be decreased in old age because old age may make you more sensitive to the rose and also the body system clerks the drug slowly.
In other cases,the dose may have to be increased in old age because their their thyroid functions are declining with age.
