Can I Play, Travel Or Pick Up My Baby After Hernia Repair Surgery?

Hello I'm a 37 male who had colon surgery at the age of 30. I have just been involved in a car accident which caused to have 2 small hernia in my abdomen. I have just had my open hernia repair with mesh. My question is will my lifestyle change due to this? Will I still be able to play sports, travel, pick up my baby etc.?

hi.

yes, you'll be able to function and do all those again. but not in a months time. let your wound heal completely first. and then follow-up with your surgeon and have him/her cleared you prior to those activities.

at the moment, no forceful movements, lifting of heavy objects and strenuous activities.

hope this helps.

good day!!
