Can I Squeeze The Blister Like Growth On Knuckle And Apply Neosporine?

I have a blister like growth on my, knuckle and I wonder if I can puncture it and put Neosporine or something on it. This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. I'm 70 and in pretty good health. I take only blood pressure medicine, vitamin (multi), citrocal, fish oil.

Hi,

I can understand the concern for the blister like growth on knuckle. After reading your query I can make out that you are suffering from "folliculitis" which is due to inflammation of hair root and oil gland over the skin.

I advise you to not pinch or pop the area otherwise these areas are very prone for getting secondary infection. For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol. Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.

Take care.
