Can I Take 'omez' Whenever I Suffer From Acidity?

Hi.. I am 40 year male from Mumbai. I was prescribed OMEZ for acidity...which gave me good relief....My question is...(1) can I take OMEZ as and when i feel I am having acidity....(2) is it safe to take OMEZ for a long period of time say for couple of years or more ?
