Can Increased Iron Consumption Cause Headaches?

Yes how are u? I have been suffering from a serious headache that tends to happen everyday for the last 90 days. I have increased my iron absorption to twice a day. 325 mg tabs twice daily. The headaches did go away once. Bit now they are back daily. Do you think it s the ferrous sulfate iron pills?

Iron tablets are more known for causing digestive ill effects, and not nervous system related problems. However, associations of any symptom with ingestion of medicine are not uncommon. If the headache has gone away upon stoppage of iron tablets, you may as well switch to iron injections taken monthly. I rather advise you to take headache as a separate symptom, may be related to your ophthalmologic problems. If nothing works out, and/or it gets worse, get a plain brain ct and consult a neurologist.
