Have had pernicious anemia since I was 40; am now 77. Am oldest of four siblings, all of whom have it. First a brother got it in his early 30 s; a few years later, I got it. Then a sister was diagnosed in her mid- 60 s; recently youngest brother got a very serious case at 70. Neither of our parents ever had it, though they lived to 87 and 98. Some of our paternal aunts had it. Ethnically, we are 1/2 Irish, on our Dad s side. I was prescribed injections for many years. In my early 60 s my Dr. asked if I wanted to try B-12 pills, which I tried and have been on since then. When last tested six months ago, blood was still normal. Though I have had some numbness in my feet for many years, it seems somewhat more noticeable now. Several months ago I came down with viral hepatitis. ( I am not a drinker.) Got over the worst of it and my appetite now back to normal. Still feel fatigue. Do you think I would do better if I went back on injections of B-12? Thank you. Bonita Schultz, Longmont, CO
