Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been on Cymbalta for several years. In the last several months, my sleep has been bad. I have no difficulty falling asleep, but my most recent sleep studies both showed that in 6 1/2 hours of sleep, I had over 2800 limb movements or twitches. While I have no recollection of it, I woke up briefly 88 times, never reached level 3 sleep, and had roughly 30 minutes of REM sleep. I wear a CPAP and had only four brief apneas. When I wake up in the morning I feel like I ve been in a wrestling match. I never feel rested, no matter how long I sleep. Is there a chance the cymbalta is causing my sleep difficulty. I should say about six months ago my dosage was upped from 60 to 120 mg per day.
Insomnia is a common side effect of Cymbalta. Some other side effects that you may experience are:
-Nausea and vomiting
-Anxiety
-Dizziness
-Headache
-Tingling and numbness
-Sweating
-Nightmares
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
