Can Intake Of Yaz Bring In Side Effects Like Anxiety And Depression?

My 17 year old daughter has had excessive bleeding during her periods for the past year. We went to a pediatric gynecologist who put her on Yaz after doing an ultrasound to determine there were no physical problems. The bleeding problem is better, but she has become very anxious and depressed after being on it for about 8 months. I had the same problem when I was on the pill years ago and had to quit taking it. She does not want to discontinue Yaz, but I think the effects from the pill are worse than the bleeding. Is there some other way to treat her excessive bleeding besides the pill?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that her symptoms are related to the Yaz.

Different oral contraceptives can have slightly varying effects. Most ,if not all, oral contraceptive would help with heavy bleeding.

She may want to consider switching to another oral contraceptive which may have a different side effect profile.

I hope this helps
