General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The soft stools are possible in a patient with alcohol intake most likely due to chronic pancreas insufficiency or sometimes acute hepatic dysfunction, gall bladder hyper contractions.

In many instances, spices consumed with alcohol are also at the major contributing source of soft stools.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
