Can Intake Of Penicillin Causes Chest Pain And Burps?

Hi I'm taking penicillin 500mg 4 times a day for tonsillitis and am experiencing chest pain after eating.
It feels like pressure on the top part of my chest and I've also noticed I keep doing mini burps for a long time after eating which seems to relive some of the chest pain.
Are the two related? Thanks,

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain intake of antibiotics and chest pain along with burping are inter-related as antibiotics can lead to hyperacidity and increased intestinal gas formation..
There can also be acid reflux that can lead to burning and heaviness in chest..
Nothing to worry as the symptoms are short lived and will resolve once the antibiotic intake is stopped.
Till the time you are taking antibiotics you can take Pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning..
You can take antacids like Milk of magnesia half an hour before meals..
Take probiotics like Yoghurt in diet.
Take light meals and avoid spicy and heavy foods..
Drink plenty of water..
In case if the condition worsen consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can reduce the dose of antibiotics or stop the medication if sufficient relief has occurred..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
