Can Intestinal Surgery Affect Sexual Health?

Hi . I am 17 years old my wieight is about 135lbs. When i was 15 i had intestinal surgery and also at the same time compliance (adherence) surgery. I started having sex at the age of 16 and since 10 months from now my boyfriend has been coming inside. I ve never experienced pregnancy symptoms and my period always came on time. I would like to know if this surgery affected me in any way or do I have to see a gynecologist? Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is better you have protected sex for your well being if you are having multiple partners and do not wish to get pregnant or get sexually transmitted diseases. The surgery should not be affecting your sexual health in most possibilities. If you have any gynecological symptoms like pain and discharge from vagina then it may help to consult a gynecologist.
