Can Late Periods Be Symptom Of Pregnancy?

Am a young woman of age 28, height 5ft4" and i weigh 65kg. Med history; I am a very healthy woman, had a D&C in 2008. I have a normal and regular cycle. About four weeks back i had to treat candidasis(yeast infection), after which i noticed i ovulated late in my cycle, that's about the 17th and 18th day in my cycle, which is usually 26 days. I had unprotected sex on the 20th day, and took postinor 2 with the next 48 hours, and i mistakely took both pills at the same time. And today is the 32nd day in this cycle, which is very unusual. Is it possible that i might be pregnant?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Of course pregnancy has to be ruled out in every case with a delay in their periods, but if it is ruled out there are a few causes for the delay in your case ma'am.

First factor is the history of a recent infection, which can result in a delay in periods; then we have the consumption of postinor which has a common side effect of a delay in periods and finally we have the sexual contact which in some individuals can also result in a delay.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
