Can Lime Juice Neutralize The Drugs?

I recently started drinking some water and fresh lime juice. On a certain day I had sex and had to take postinor 2 immediately. Although I don t feel sick or anything, I m now very worried because I fear that the lime in the water already in my system might have neutralized the drugs. Is this possible?

Hi,

No, Lime juice doesn't interact with postinor and will not neutralize the effect of the medication. Any emergency contraception taken otherwise does have a very small risk of not preventing pregnancy, but rest assured that it is not/won't be due to interaction with lime juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Sanjana Nagraj
