Can Liquid Glycerin Suppository Be Placed During Sleep?

I have a 3 and 1/2 year old son that will not let us do a liquid glycerin suppository. I've tried talking to him for hours and he will not let us. If we try and hold him down, I'm afraid that it will hurt him. He is a heavy sleeper and I was wondering if we can do this while he is sleeping?
