Can Loss Of Lot Of Blood Be The Cause Of General Weakness With Hemoglobin 112?

Hi Dr, I had lots of blood lost, D&C and blood transfusion two weeks ago. I had blood test last week and my heamogolobin level was 112. I still feel very weak, lightheaded , feeling panic attack, tingling in back of my head sometimes and feeling generally unwell which interferes with my daily routine . What I should do?

Hi,

Losing lots of blood associated with blood transfusion would cause anemia associated with feeling weak and lightheaded.

Tingling in the back of your head is due to hypotension caused by anemia.

Your hemoglobin level is within the normal level, so, you might have mild anemia.

Feeling panic attack is due to your anxiety after losing lots of blood. At this point, I advise to eat healthy, consume more foods high in iron like:
- meat
- liver
- egg yolk
- prunes

and drink more water and juices.

Try to relax and avoid activities that would require energy.

Wish fast recovery!
