Can Lump On The Foot Be Due To Lesion?

My husband has a lump on the sole of his foot that recently has started to grow in size. It is not painful but is irritated by orthotics when he walks. He has been seen a few times by a podiatrist about this lesion and has been given some prescription medication to put on it twice a day. Since using this prescription is when it has started to grow in size. Should he seek the opinion of another podiatrist and how serious a lesion could it be?

Hello,

You can opt for a fine needle biopsy to make a diagnosis. An X-ray can also be taken. Consult an orthopedic and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
