Can Lyrica Be Combined With Amtripaline?

I am a male 40 years of age, I am on Lyrica. My doctor prescribed Amtripaline, I took my first pill and shortly after the top front of my head (Hair line area) began to hurt, shortly after I had a headache, so severe it was unbearable. It took roughly 24 hours for this head ache to subside. My question is, are these two combinations of drugs compatable?

Hello,

These drugs may have a worrisome interaction. They may have additive effect the on central nervous system and respiratory system depression. In many cases this is not a serious concern, but it may become one. Amitriptyline may cause headache -it's a documented side effect. Perhaps you should discuss this symptom with your doctor to search for alternatives.

Besides that, severe headache is a good reason to visit your doctor to exclude serious diagnoses.

Contact me again if you'd like further information.

Kind regards!
