Can Mono Be Transferred To An Infant By Breastfeeding ?

Can mono be transferred to an infant by breastfeeding? My daughter in law delivered a month early and she had been diagnosed with mono 2 weeks before she delivered. She has been breast feeding the baby from the start and I wonder what if any, damage this can do to the baby?

HI no need to worry as it is not transferable by breast milk.Only, she should be careful not to be with the baby all the time with having symptoms of cough, sorethroat as she can transmit to her baby.Hope this answers your query
