Can Nor Metrogyl Be Given Too 6 Month Old For Loose Motions?

Our baby had continuous loose motions and when we consulted a paediatrician, he suggested nor metrogyl 3.75 ml 2 times a day. Many doctors we have consulted say that was not a right thing to do. Our baby is just under 6 months old. Is this a cause for concern?
