Can Noriday Cause Nausea,diarrhea And Rashes All Over?

hi, my daughter has had a headache for over a week now, she feels nauseous periodically but no actuial diarrhorea or sickness. yesterday a rash appeared on her body and today she has wrists pain in both wrists. she has a general feeling of being unwell. could this be related to the contraceptive pill noriday which she has been taking for about 2 months or is it something else thank you

Hi,

Noriday contains norethisterone which is used to prevent pregnancy. It is a type of pill called the mini pill or progesterone only pill. It works by increasing the thickness of the mucus at the neck of the womb, making it difficult for the sperm to cross from the vagina into the womb.

Side effects of Noriday are nausea, vomiting, GIT upset, irregular bleeding, spotting between periods, more frequent periods, stopping of periods, headache, acne, mood swings, depression, change in sex drive, weight gain, fatigue, cyst on the ovaries, joint pain, muscle pain, itching, diarrhoea, skin rashes, breast tenderness and enlargement, symptoms of allergic reactions like itching, rash, swelling of lips, tongue or throat, dizziness, breathing difficulties etc. If the side effects persist for long or they may bother you, then immediately consult your doctor for medical help.
