Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband was prescribed Donazapil 14 days ago for Vascular Dementia for the past 3 days he has been falling..not sure if he is fainting or just getting extremely dizzy. Can he safely just stop taking it? He has severe heart issues and he said he would rather live out his life without fear of falling and breaking his bones..so need to know if he can stop taking it.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Sorry to hear of the hard days he had, Donpazil should very cautiously be used by heart patients.
If your husband had heart problems and is now not well with the drug, then there is no harm in stopping the drug, so yes stop the drug.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
