Can One Take Ecstacy While On 250 Mg Clarithromycin (Klacid)?

can i take ecstacy while on 250 mg Clarithromycin (Klacid)? yes i know it is of course very bad for you but i have a festival coming up on saturday (started Clarithromycin today monday) so ill be 5 days in on it and willl be taking E at the festival.? any information/advice would be appreciated

Hi,

It is not safe to take ecstasy while on Klacid. Ecstasy is a psychoactive, hallucinogen and thus an illegal drug (drug of abuse). It can cause increase in heart rate and blood pressure and other symptoms such as muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, nausea, blurred vision, faintness, and chills or sweating.

If taken while on antibiotic Klacid it may increase the risk of potential life threatening arrhythmias (abnormal heart rate and rhythm) which can be fatal. Hence it is not advisable to take it while on Klacid.
