Can Overdosing On A Medication Cause An Allergic Reaction?

Is it possible to develop an allergy of a medication after overdosing on one? Last month I attempted to kill my self by taking 16000mg of Tylenol. Earlier today I tried taking some to ease the pain of an ear infection and within minutes I started feeling nauseous.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Please avoid suicidal thoughts and do consult a psychiatrist. And about tylenol, overdosage can cause hepatotoxicity. Please do avoid that. Avoid Self medication. Life is precious. Enjoy and live life.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
