Can Pain Between The Knee And Calf With Tender Superficial Veins And Brush Burns Indicate Dvt?

I have a 17 year old elite soccer player (male). He said at practice tonight when he struck the ball he felt a sharp pain between the top of his calf and back of his knee on the inside. It is not terribly painful now and doesn't feel like a sore muscle. The vein is sitting close to the surface and is tender to the touch. There are a few weird spots that look like brush burns but he had no contact. I'm worried about dvt - I appreciate any guidance

HI. With such an occurrence in an elite player , the only thing which can help is color Doppler study - immediately. this can not be DVT but he sonography with Doppler can help to know the exact diagnosis. Till then strict rest to the part.
