Can Panic Attacks Be A Result Of Marijuana Smoking?

So I am (or was) a regular marijuana smoker. I have never had any problems with smoking, however I started taking legal over the counter herbs. I had been doing it some time until one incident sent me to the hospital. My heart skyrocketed to 180 over 90. It was very serious and yes I will never smoke over the counter ever again. I have recently tried smoking marijuana, but only small amounts. Everytime though I would notice this pain in my chest. It couldn't have been my heart as it was fine. The most recent I started to have a pain right below my lower left rib. It wasn't excrutiating, I wasn't having a panic attack and my heart was fine. However there is now a small knot on my lower left rib. It doesn't hurt anymore, sometimes it is sore and I can easily ignore it, most of the time I don't even notice it. I'm not sure it has any connection with my incident, but since it only happened after it I can assume the previous data will help. I hope it's not too serious or that I have to stop smoking altogether.

Hi,

Cannabis can cause increased heart rate and blood pressure, even in people who have no heart disease. It can also cause anxiety disorders and panic attacks. I do not think the tender spot on your chest has anything to do with cannabis. Most probably it is due to some injury which was not noticed by you at the time. The pain should be gone in a few weeks.

Best wishes.
