Can Plasma Replacement Help Weak Nerves And Muscles?

my father have not been able to walk for over a year and is considering plasma replacement. My father has type 2 diabetes and he has been treated the last year through infusion (IGH?) which have not helped him to walk at all. I would like to know if this might help with the nerves and muscles that have become weakened.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
I would suggest to see a neurologist and a physiotherapist for him.
Hope he has been prescribed , multivitamins and methylcobalamin.
He needs active exercise to improve on his muscles.
Hope this suggestion helps.
Good luck.
