Can Pre-workout Tablets Be Taken For Muscle Gain?

I am 20 year old, with weight 55 and height 5.7 . I am a sportsperson and also perform workout in gym . My gym trainer has asked me to take pre-workout tablets for a healthy gain of muscles. Though my absolute aim is to have a healthy weight not to be a bodybuilder, should i use those tablets?
