Can Probiotic Align Be Taken Concomitantly With Flagyl 500 Mg TID?

Hello Dr. Narasi, I ve been prescribed Flagyl (Metronidaloze) 500mg TID, after testing positive for a protozoa (Iodamoeba butschlii) infection. My question is, can I take the Probiotic ALIGN, concurrently, or are there any contraindications? I just hope that one won t lessen the effect of the other. Any info would be very helpful. Thank you, Jay

Hello
Metronidazole is most potent drug for amoeba infection .
While prebitotic and rpobiotic , you can take safely with flagyl as both drugs don't interact with one another mechanism of action .
Otherwise probiotics are also for the maintenance of normal intestinal flora and it don't interfere with flagyl tablet .
