Dear sir i can understand your concerns

the Rapid insulin also called as mealtime insulin and should be taken before 5 mins of taking every major meal.

in case if you decided to skip the meal its advisable to skip the rapid insulin also
the other insulin is called as basal insulin can be taken as usually irrespective of meal timing.
skipping meals often is not advisable i suggest to follow a regular pattern of food for a better control of diabetes
regards
