Can Rashes Be The Side Effect Of Taking Clindamycin Medicine?

appear to have slight reaction to clindamycin. rashes in many spots. slight difficulty drawing a full breath. heart rate higher than usual, seems to be about 120+. have been taking this medication for about 4 weeks. is this likely to be related to clindamycin or just coincidence? if so, should i take an antihistamine?

As per your complain the symptoms of rashes on body along with difficulty in drawing full breath along with increased heart rate can be a side effect of antibiotic Clindamycin that you are taking for about 4 weeks and it needs immediate medical attention.

Consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and also advise a blood test to look for the exact cause of the symptoms and treat you accordingly..

In case if it is due to side effect of the medication the antibiotic will be stopped immediately and you will be given alternate antibiotics that are compatible with your body and does not cause side effects..
Anti allergics will also be advised for relieving the symptoms as well as topical application of steroid ointment and cool compresses will relieve..
