Noted your history of feeling of a bit swollen
rectum after heavy leg lifting.
Also noted that you are 62 with excellent urinary stream.
Your suspicion is correct.
Anything that increases the intra-abdominal pressure causes the muscles around the anus and of the anus to contract as a reflex mechanism to avoid spillage of stool.
If you have done such exercises or work, there can be a mild swelling secondary to the pre-existing problems like hemorrhoids or
fissure in ano.
I would advise you the following on the basis that such an occurrence is very rare.
Colonoscopy, ano-proctoscopy and per-rectal finger examination to rule out the local problems.
And to get treated as per the findings.
Till then relax, do not repeat any strenuous exercises or work that may increase the intra-abdominal pressure and increase such an edema.
Sitz bath at least twice a day in a tub with warm water.
