Can Reflux Cause Fibrosis Of The Lungs? Gained Weight And Skin Dry After Stopping Prednisone

I have fibrosis of the lungs. Never smoked, have hiatus hurnia , suffer from reflux, on to topzole recently. Been on prednisone 2 years and stopped. Picked up weight and skin looks old and dry. Have no energy and shortness of breath. Is the reflux the cause of fibrosis.

I can understand your problem and situation.
Pulmonary fibrosis is not a good disease to have. It is chronic , progressive disease. Till date no cure is available. Reflux disease can not cause directly but contribute in worsening of fibrosis by micro aspirations.
So control of reflux disease is must to achieve good control of fibrosis.
In your case, I think hiatus hernia and long term steroid use must be caused reflux disease.
So if possible get done surgical correction of hiatus hernia.
And your symptoms like weight gain, dry skin etc all are due to long term steroid use.
So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these and try to plan further line of management for your fibrosis.
