My 92 year old mother lives with me. She was on Seroquel from mid 2007 to mid 2010. Her doctor stopped the medication due to a black box warning. Her current doctor has prescribed the medication which I have not given her. Is this medication harmful for a 92 year old women to take?
Hello.Quetiapine is usually prescribed to take at night with a sedative purpose at low dose (25 mg per day) and usually dont causes problems. At higher doses it can cause excessive sedation with risk of falls,so in your prescription must be assessed risk / benefit balance. I wish you good health.
