Can Simvastatin Cause Yellow Diarrhea?
Can SIMVASTATIN (Zocor), 10 mg once per day, cause yellow diarrhea? I have been on SIMVASTATIN for about 8 weeks with no problems, but for the last 5 days I have had experienced yellowish diarrhea of varying intensity. I do not have any fever, upset stomach, pains , or any other symptoms. I do have an appetite and in fact are hungry. I am male, 55 6 ft, 255 lbs and am also taking Amlodipine Besylate 10 mg 1/day and Losartan 50 mg, 1/day for high blood pressure, along witb 1 mg of lorazepam at night.

Simvastatin can cause you diarrhea but frequency not defined. Diarrhea can be caused by viruses, bacteria that live in food or water, parasites such as tiny worms, side effects from some medicines, problems digesting certain types of food, diseases that harm the digestive system. You diarrhea for more than 6 times a day and more than 3 days you should go to see a doctor. Drink a lot of water, sal and sugar. Try to eat a little food. Good choices are potatoes, noodle, rice, oatmeal, crackers, bananas, soup, and boiled vegetables. Salty foods also help.
