I am 60 years old and have a ca 125 level of 40, it has gone up within the last year....can stress cause this...I have no symptoms of ovarian cancer....but could this be.....My naturopath things that it is stress related, as my cortisol levels are also elevated. Are there any tests that I should get done? Thanks
Hi and thanks for the query, It is very difficult for stress to cause very high increse in the CA 125 levels. It is true that this marker could be raised under situations of acute inflammation or other metabolic diseases. If you noticed it raised, it might be necessary to rule out ovarian cancer and other gynecological malignancies. the opinion of a gynecologist is needed. Kind regards
