my husband had a car accident 9 days ago. his gas pedal stuck and the car was stopped by a stone wall. his both calves, ankles and feet are still very very swollen and black and blue even though we have kept them elevated. should he go to the emergency room/

is he able to walk around?if, yes then my advice would be limb elevation,ice fomentaton,sumeg dressing,tab.trypsin/chymotrypsin combination along with tab.ibuprofen.
