Can Taking Beyaz Be Related To Dark-brown Vaginal Discharge?

Ive been taking beyaz for about a month now, and about 4-5 days ago I started to have light-dark brown vaginal discharge. Is this just a side effect of the birth control? Could it also be just some bleeding before my period starts (which should be in a couple days?)
