Can Taking Cymbalta And Zoloft Cause Fluctuating Body Temperature?

Iam a 72 year old female and have been having some different problems recently. One being changing from a very cold person to a very hot one. My gynecologist told me she didn't think it is was hot flashes related. She said Cymbalta could do that. Does this sound like it could be the problem. I also take Zoloft. Should these be taken together? I actually was given the Cymbalta for pain instead of depression. Should that make a difference.

Hello thanks for asking from Health Care Magic for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Yes I also dont think that these symptoms are related to hot flashes. You have complaints of fluctuating body temperature apart from other symptoms like pain. You are already on Sertraline (Zoloft) and has been advised to take Duloxetine (Cymbalta). Sertraline is a SSRI drug and Cymbalta is SNRI drug. Zoloft is a safe drug and can be used in elderly also. Taking Zoloft and Cymbalta may result in risk of serotonin syndrome and in my opinion you should avoid taking both these drugs together. Please discuss with your doctor if symptoms persist but avoid the use of these drugs simultaneously.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
