Can Taking Gabapentin And Tylenol Together Cause Memory Loss?

I have been taking one 300 mg gabapentin tablet twice a day for the past several years for sciatica nerve pain. I also take one extra strength tylenol two times a day. Together they are quite effective. I am concerned about how much my memory loss is connected to that. Do you have any information that might be helpful to know? Marilyn Thompson YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Incomplete data like age and other medical illnesses if any??

There's no documented evidence memory loss occurring due to any harmful interactions between Gabapentin and Tylenol extra strength.

However, Gabapentin decreases the levels of Tylenol extra strength by increasing its metabolism which may result in injury to the liver.

Hope I could answer your query.
