Can Taking Both Imitrex And Sumatriptan Together Be Safe ?

I am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy on the 22nd of this month. Q is I have to take IMITREX for my migraines which have worsened due to some new heart meds I have to take. Can t have aspirin, aleve or any other kind of blood thinning med. Would IMITREX or Sumatriptan as it is also labeled be a problem?

Imitrex is a brand of the drug called Sumatriptan and you need not consider them different. You do not need to take Imitrex along with some other brand of Sumatriptan. Just take any one. Alternatively you can take Naprosyn (naproxen) 500 mg one or two tablets together as per your requirement to relieve the headache. Take it in full stomach or along with some anti-hyperacidity medication. Naproxen is more effective than aspirin and hence I would not recommend the ones you mentioned. Both Imitrex as well as Naprosyn are safe and also can be taken together though I would not suggest that. About aspirin as a blood thinning agent, you can take it safely along and it would not create a problem.
