Can Tb Cause Loss Of Weight?

i had tb when i was younger but i was cured thankfully, but now that i am 22 i cant seem to gain any weight no matter what i eat i remain very thin almost sick looking! would having tb have anything to do with this?? although i had several bloodtests done and have been told i just have a fast metabolisim and it will slow with age, im very unhappy with my weight any ideas thanks

Yes, it is true that TB causes loss of weight and makes one malnourished. If it has been cured completely, then you need not worry. All you need to do is to shift your focus from your body weight and focus on eating healthy for a strong immunity. TB usually strikes people who have a weak immune system, hence you must try to boost your immunity by eating healthy foods like a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, milk and milk products like curd/cheese, eggs, fish and poultry and meat (if non-vegetarian) etc. Try to increase your energy intake by adding ghee/butter/cream to foods generously. Have a nutritious diet and try to relax and sleep well. You will gradually put on weight as metabolism slows down as you age.
