Can The Marijuana Help For Both Meniere S Disease And BPPV?

I have seen an ENT, and I have been told that I either have BPPV or Meniere s Disease, as I exhibit symptoms of both. I need to have a couple expensive specialized tests that will determine the cause of my vertigo for sure. I use cannabis when I am having a hard time going through my day. I know for a fact that marijuana can help with Meniere s, but can it also help with BPPV?

hello dear,

I understand your concern and will try to address practically as per my competency.

BPPV and Meniere's disease are two different entities leading to dizziness.

BPPV ( Benign paroxismal positional Vertigo) is due to abnormal deposition of calcium crystals inside our inner ear, whose movement affects the sensitive area and leads to dizziness. But here symptom persists for some seconds and gets relived on its own. There is only one treatment for this : Epley's maneuver which is done to repositioning the crystal to safe places. THERE IS NO OTHER TREATMENT FOR BPPV.

Meniere's disease on the other side is due to rupture of membrane inside the inner ear due to high pressure. The symptom occur abruptly, intensely and lasts continuously for days till the membrane heals. As per your knowledge it is true that there are some report that Marijuana helps in relieving the symptoms. But all the studies are case report and do not have validity. It might be helping wit its anti-anxiety and anti-nausea properties, but this studies have to be established.

I hope I could solve your query. Please do not hesitate to clarify more doubts for the same situation.

Thank you for the way you are in my life.
