Can The Back Pain Be The Reason For Metal Taste?

I am 28yrs old, 5'2'' and 155lbs. I had a spinal fussion 15 years ago. I have had lower back pain ever since. About 4 months ago I fell geting out of the tub, ever since then my lower back pain has increased. I am going to get an MRI this week, but my question is when the pain is bad, I can taste it, it taste like metal. Is that the taste of pain or is it even related?

Back pain that you have is not likely to be related to the metallic taste in the mouth.
The change in taste can be due to the pain killers that you might be taking.
