Can The Results From A TRI-DOT Show Accurate Results For HIV?

hello

I had a risky exposure one and half years back from now. I recently tested for HIV and the KIt used was TRI-DOT. it was done in dhande lab pune and the result shows negative for HIV Antibodies I and II. I just want to know how accurate are the results and does this rule out any possibility of having AIDS?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Tridot test is specific and sensitive more than 98% when it had been performed after 3 months. You had the test one and half years after your risky contact. Another negative Rapid (with a different antigen) or ELISA test makes it 100% conclusive that you are HIV free. Now we can say that you are most unlikely to have HIV.
